Father, receive this unfinished heart.
Receive its words and its fear of silence.
Receive its pictures and its need to see.
Receive its desire for certainty, and its disappointment when certainty does not come.
Let my understanding remain available for learning.
Let my trust remain turned toward You when understanding reaches its limit.
Receive the image I make of myself as one who prays.
Receive even my wish to possess this connection.
Here is the thought that has arrived.
Here is the feeling I cannot settle.
Here is the next step I can take.
